Raptors lose 114-109 to 76ers

(Toronto) Joel Embiid had 36 points and 11 rebounds to guide the 76ers Philadelphia to a 114-109 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night.



Montrealer Chris Boucher had 28 points, including five three-pointers, and 19 rebounds as Pascal Siakam added 28 points in his first game in two weeks for the Torontonians.

Gary Trent Jr. ended the game with 19 points and Yuta Watanabe had 10 for the Raptors (14-17).

The Raptors presented a roster comprising four players who signed a 10-day contract following an NBA exemption. One of those players was DJ Wilson, who left COVID-19 protocols to join the team at halftime.

The Toronto troops trailed for most of the night, but never by more than 10 points before the fourth quarter. The Raptors missed a few shots and Georges Niang’s three-point throw gave the 76ers to take the lead by 11 points.

Boucher had two three-pointers, bringing the Raptors three-pointers closer with 3:42 remaining in the game.

The Torontonians even took a 107-106 lead with 1:41 left when Trent hit a three-point shot.

A basket of Embiid with 51 seconds to play to restore the lead to the 76ers (18-16) and Tobias Harris made four free throws to confirm the victory of his people.

Ten Raptors players still in NBA COVID-19 protocols, including Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and Scottie Barnes

Siakam, Trent and Malachi Flynn were able to quit the protocols on Tuesday. Precious Achiuwa and Khem Birch also left this roster, but they did not return to the game due to their physical condition. Dalano Banton was sidelined with a knee injury.
