The last two matches of the Rivalry Series, a nine-game streak between the Canadian women’s hockey team and the United States, were called off due to COVID-19 on Tuesday.

These games were scheduled to be played in Alberta, Edmonton on January 3 and Red Deer on January 6. After discussion, the two formations considered it more prudent to cancel these meetings, with the approach of the Olympic Games in Beijing, in February.
Game number 7 was also canceled on December 20.

The representatives of the maple leaf have won four of six preparatory meetings against the Americans. They started in October and ended on December 15 with a 2-1 overtime win for Canada.
