Bruins beat Flyers

Four goals in 4:14 in the first period propelled the Boston Bruins to a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

David Pastrnak got his 32e and 33e nets in the gust.

Charlie McAvoy, Danton Heinen, James Van Riemsdyk and Charlie Coyle were the other scorers for the Bruins.

Pavel Zacha provided two assists for the Bruins, who have won seven times in their last eight games.

Linus Ullmark blocked 35 shots, giving up twice to Tyson Foerster.

Samuel Ersson allowed four goals on 14 shots, then Cal Petersen took over starting in the second period. He made 12 saves.

The Flyers have lost their last five games. On Thursday, they were shut out 3-0 in Detroit.

The Bruins stunned their rivals in the opening period.

Pastrnak got the ball rolling at 14:09 with a wrist shot.

McAvoy connected at 15:46 from the left mouth, redirecting a pass from Zacha.

Heinen did his part at 16:47, deflecting a shot from Brandon Carlo.

Pastrnak completed the surge at 18:23, taking advantage of a rebound following a shot from Van Riemsdyk.

Before the game, the Flyers honored Mark Recchi, the newest member of their Hall of Fame.

Recchi played a total of 602 games with Philadelphia, scoring 232 goals and 627 points.

In 1992-93, he had 53 goals and 123 points with the Flyers — the team’s record for points in a regular season.
