(Chambly) A man lost his life in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Chambly, in Montérégie.
The collision occurred Friday evening, around 10:30 p.m., on Patrick Farrar Street, very close to Briand Street and an exit from Highway 10.
For a reason still unknown, the driver of a vehicle deviated from his lane before hitting the vehicle which was traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the vehicle that veered out of its lane, a 33-year-old man, died. His identity was not immediately released.
The other driver did not suffer serious injuries, but was shaken by a violent nervous shock.
There was only one occupant in each vehicle involved.
The road was closed in the area until 3 a.m. Saturday morning, enough time to allow the collision scene reconstructionist from the Sûreté du Québec, called in as reinforcement, to do his work.
Speed could be a factor in this fatal head-on collision.
The investigation carried out with the Richelieu–Saint-Laurent intermunicipal police authority continues.
