Patrick Fiori at his worst, this period when he suffered greatly because of Garou

Frédéric Lopez will be back this Sunday January 28, 2024 with his show A Sunday in the countryside on France 3. This time the host will receive the singer Patrick Fiori who will look back on his childhood spent in Corsica and his career in the world of music. In an extract revealed by our colleagues at Gala, we discover that the 54-year-old artist will talk about his time in Canada while he was in the middle of touring for the musical Notre Dame de Paris.

A rather complicated period in particular because he had a hard time establishing himself against his better-known colleagues at the time. “We stayed number one for three years. We went to Canada. It was a hit there” he said before explaining why this period was not easy. “At the beginning, it was difficult for the French, it was a bit difficult for us…”. Patrick Fiori alludes to his former colleagues Garou, Daniel Lavoie, Luck Mervil and Bruno Pelletier who were all Canadian and therefore adored in their country.

Patrick Fiori therefore suffered from not being very appreciated by the Canadian public in his early days. “When I came home and sang Beautiful – there were three of us – when Garou came home, everyone applauded, Daniel Lavoie [aussi] And [pas] me… And that lasted three months. I said to myself: ‘I’m the extra guy, the extra guy.'” he revealed while specifying that he had “never spoken about that” publicly.

Over time, the singer came to accept the situation. And after a while… I don’t give up. You applaud me, you don’t applaud me… Anyway, I’m here, I’m going to do my thing. Already, I’m enjoying it, I want to… I’ve slowly made my place.” he concluded.
