Le Mans Sonore is back to thrill its audience once again. This new edition under the sign of transmissions once again combines the arts to nine days of festivities. Among the big new features, a sound dome with a capacity of 600 spectators presented as a “world premiere”.

A construction dedicated to immersive sound in which Jean-Michel Jarre, sponsor of this biennial, will play. The French musician proposes the 20 January a master’s degree class when listening toOxymoronthis album created in multichannel sound, for an effect 3D.

Subsequently, immersive listening to stories offered by Radio France will host several evenings under the dome. Interactive adventures on various themes, Homo sapiens with The Xanadu Highlands to the intriguing story of a forest guard who witnesses strange events in Furies.

Crossroads of the arts

Shows at the crossroads of the arts will also be on offer, such as Between the tracks. A headphone concert to discover the musical and poetic world of the railway environment. A result made possible thanks to a multitude of sounds collected at the station.

“I recorded what I heard using two small microphones placed in the ears. I was able to record almost in 360 degrees everything that was happening around me”, explains Denis Monjanel, co-creator of the show. An invitation to dream, to the rhythm of the sounds of switches and musical instruments, imagined with students from the acoustics laboratory at the University of Le Mans.

A musical plunge announced as “an exploration of the unknown, a transcendence through the intersection of sounds“.
