After Dino Prizmic, the Serbian Novak Djokovic faces the local Alexei Popyrin, in a start to the table which is not a walk in the park. Indeed, the world number 1 comes out of a confrontation against Prizmic which lasted more than four hours (6-2, 6-7 [5-7], 6-3, 6-4), a first for him to open a Grand Slam. The winner of the junior Roland-Garros caused a lot of problems for Novak Djokovic, even winning a round thanks to his impressive physical intensity.
For this second round, the ten-time winner of the Australian Open will therefore face the local Alexei Popyrin, who got rid of Marc Polmans in three sets (6-3, 7-6 [7-3], 6-2), and who could match his best performance. He last won it last year, losing to Ben Shelton in three sets.
