A Mauricie man suffered serious burns to his right foot after his heated insole caught fire.
On December 13, Jean-Philippe Blanchette-Perron activated his heated insole while working. The battery, lodged in the sole, caught fire. A colleague helped him remove his boot.
His heel had second-degree and third-degree burns on his ankle.

The doctor suggested that a transplant would be necessary. Fortunately, the care provided resulted in optimal recovery.
The construction worker now wants to make others aware of the experience he went through.
