It’s not Mean Girlsbut rather The Beekeeper which rose to first place among the most popular films in Quebec over the weekend. Ruadapted from the novel by Kim Thuy remains in the top 10.
The Beekeeper (The Guardian), directed by David Ayer and starring Jason Statham, grossed $245,000. Mean Girls (Nasty teens), by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr., claims second place with $216,000 at the box office.
Wonka, which crossed the 500 million mark in total revenue, according to the Deadline website, comes in fourth place in Quebec for the weekend of January 12 to 14. Ruby Charles-Olivier Michaud on a screenplay by Jacque Davidts and adapted from the successful novel by Kim Thuy, remains in the top 10 in Quebec, in ninth position, with cumulative revenues of 1.7 million.
