(Oshawa) General Motors on Monday named Kristian Aquilina as president and general manager of GM Canada.
The move is a promotion for Mr. Aquilina, who was vice president of vehicle sales, service and marketing for GM Canada.
He replaces Marissa West, who became president of GM North America earlier this month.
GM said Aquilina is accepting the position as the industry prepares for an all-electric future and the company strives to capitalize on its recent investments in Canada.
The automaker’s Canadian workers ratified a new three-year collective agreement with General Motors last year, after a brief strike.
The agreement provided for significant improvements in wages, benefits and job security.
