The preliminary investigation of a man accused of the triple murder of his partner and their two children in Brossard in the fall of 2022 began this morning under the watchful gaze of around twenty relatives of the victims.
Mohamad Al Ballouz, 37, is accused of the premeditated murders of his two children, aged 2 and 5, as well as the unpremeditated murder of his partner, Synthia Buissières, 38 years old.
He also faces an arson charge.
The tragedy dates back to September 25, 2022. The bodies of the mother and the young Eliam and Zac were found in a home on 12e floor of a condo building, rue Saint-Laurent, in Brossard.
A publication ban prevents us from revealing the facts of the case.
Several relatives of the victims came to the Longueuil courthouse this morning.
A first civilian witness was heard this morning, in addition to a firefighter, who was one of the first responders at the scene of the tragedy.
Al Ballouz’s preliminary investigation is expected to last two weeks.
The accused’s lawyer is Mr.e Marc Labelle, while the Crown is represented by Me Eric Nadeau.
