COVID-19 pandemic | Canada exceeds 2 million cases

Canada has officially recorded more than two million reported cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

The Government of Canada’s public health website indicates that the total number of cases was 2,000,976 as of December 26, 2021.

The site was not updated during the holiday season.

The highly transmissible variant Omicron has caused an increase in the number of cases across the country, and health care analysts have said the actual number of infections is likely much higher than what is being reported.

More details to come.
