Emmanuel Macron’s new government is ostensibly made up of right-wing figures. A policy change that is not a coincidence, according to some policy experts.
From which political parties is Gabriel Attal’s new government, presented on January 11, composed? Of the fourteen ministers designated by Emmanuel Macron and Gabriel Attal, three of them come from the left, compared to eight from the right. From Bruno Le Maire to Catherine Vautrin, Gérald Darmanin and Rachida Dati, the balance of this reshuffle ostensibly leans to the right. These four strong political figures all come from the UMP, and worked for Nicolas Sarkozy.
“A right-wing sociology”
In addition to the government cast, the words of the new Prime Minister echo those of Nicolas Sarkozy. Gabriel Attal spoke about January 9 “France which works, hardworking, which gets up early in the morning”precisely as the former president did in February 2007.
