Service has gradually resumed on the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) after a breakdown caused an interruption in both directions Thursday morning.
A “technical problem” was the cause of the outage which began around 5:20 a.m.
“There was a service outage following electrical work during the night,” indicates Maxime Bordeleau, from the communications department, in an email exchange with The Press.
This is regular maintenance work. The bad weather of the last 48 hours is in no way related to this breakage.
REM management had planned to resume service around 7:45 a.m.
A relief bus service was made available to travelers during this service interruption.
