After the new Prime Minister’s visit to Pas-de-Calais on Tuesday January 9, the mayor of the stricken town of Saint-Omer explains that he is “very happy” with Gabriel Attal’s first trip.
Following his appointment as Prime Minister and the handover ceremony, Gabriel Attal went to Pas-de-Calais to meet those affected by the bad weather. “We were very happy to learn that his first gesture, his first trip was to come into contact with a population who has been in distress since November.“, reacted the mayor of Saint-Omer (Pas-de-Calais), François Decoster.
The elected official explains that the new Prime Minister was able to listen to residents but also to local elected officials who asked that the pumps operate at maximum capacity throughout the winter. A request which was validated by Gabriel Attal, according to the mayor.
A new visit in the coming weeks
“We had a Prime Minister who was both attentive with the measures that were announced and then a working method: come back in a few weeks to be able to check that the decisions that were taken this evening have been implemented. , explains the mayor. This is what the population expected.”
