A third season of the series Big Little Lies is in the works, actress Reese Witherspoon said on the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday evening.
“Nic [Nicole Kidman] and I are working on it,” she told the magazine’s reporter Variety, while she attended the awards ceremony with her son. The one who is also one of the executive producers of the series, like her co-star Nicole Kidman, did not give more details concerning the evolution of the television project.
According to The Hollywood Reporterthe two actresses have an idea for a third season and are reportedly about to make a formal presentation to broadcaster HBO.
Broadcast in 2017, season 1, based on a novel by Australian Liane Moriarty directed by the late Quebec filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée, won four Golden Globe trophies and eight Emmy awards. Season 2, offered in 2019, received nominations at these two ceremonies, but no awards.
