Jeanne Elzanie Jourdan Colin, a 74-year-old Montrealer, is the victim of the bus accident that occurred Friday on a highway in the southern Adirondacks.
New York State Police announced the victim’s name late Sunday.
Another person who was airlifted to Albany Medical Center remains hospitalized in critical condition.
No further details about the passengers have been released and police are continuing to investigate the crash.
One person died and 11 others were injured when a bus leaving from Montreal overturned Friday on a highway in the southern Adirondacks. The other ten passengers were taken to Glens Falls Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on the Adirondack Northway — or Highway 87 — in the town of Lake George, according to state police, who say it was a tour bus. Skyway Coach Line.” The bus was headed to New York City, about 180 miles south.
A video broadcast by local media showed a bus tipped onto its side on the shoulder of the road.
FlixBus, a company owned by German company Flix, which also owns Greyhound, said a coach operating on its behalf was involved in the accident.
There were 23 people on the bus, including the driver, according to police. FlixBus mentioned that the driver did not suffer from life-threatening injuries.
