A new brewery will open its doors in 2024 in the MaBrasserie premises, located on Holt Street, in Rosemont. An Italian-Irish duo bought the business of the bankrupt institution and intends to relaunch the business “leaving everything the same”.

A brewing duo, Frank Fanelli and Paul Quinn, bought the company out of liquidation. The two businessmen, already experienced in hops and catering, have been brewing Italian beers for several years under the Birra Fanelli banner in the premises of the former Loup Rouge microbrewery, in Sorel-Tracy. In 2019, they bought the Sorel-based company, which was also bankrupt.
The two partners will try to keep the spirit of the place, its cooperative status, and to relaunch the community of brewers revolving around the Montreal institution. No less than 7 “partner brewers” once shared the premises of this old tannery.
