This is the third time in eight days that Argentines have taken to the streets around the unions. Unions contest the constitutionality of the decree
The anti-system president, elected on November 19, is implementing his campaign promise: cutting public spending with a chainsaw. Called emergency necessity decree, the text targets more than 300 standards, the control of rents or the prices of essential products. He also opens the way to the privatization of 41 public companies, and wants to reduce workers’ rights. The unions are contesting the constitutionality of the decree.
