Five bodies, including those of four young children, discovered in the Paris region

The lifeless bodies of five people were discovered in an apartment in Meaux, in the Paris region, Monday evening and an investigation into intentional homicide was opened, city prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier told AFP, in the night from Monday to Tuesday.

According to the Actu 17 site, which revealed the information, the victims are “a woman and her four young children” and the police are looking for the 33-year-old father, “on the run”.

The Meaux prosecutor will hold a press briefing on Tuesday during the day on this case at the judicial court.

The investigations were entrusted to the Versailles judicial police service.

Recent news has been marked by two triple infanticides perpetrated by fathers in the Paris region.

At the end of November, a 41-year-old man went to a police station to confess to the murder of his three daughters aged 4 to 11 in Alfortville, southeast of Paris. He notably mentioned a conflict context with his ex-partner regarding child custody.

A month earlier, in October, a gendarme had killed his three daughters before killing himself at his home in Vémars, northeast of Paris. The facts also took place “in a complicated family context” according to the prosecution.
