Audiences extraordinary at Paris-Vatry airport (Marne) this Sunday, December 24. Seven lawyers, four judges, clerks and translators are present. This exceptional system is spread over two days to decide the fate of the 303 Indian passengers still confined.
Waiting times which can be extended by eight days
“50 people will appear before the judge today. The judge of freedoms will decide their fate”, comments Me François Procureur, president of the Châlons-en-Champagne Bar Association. Judges can extend waiting periods by eight days, por another eight days exceptionally. Passengers have been confined to the airport hall since December 21 and a technical stopover. Two of the passengers carrying several passports and cash are suspected of being smugglers.
