Canadian player Denis Shapovalov has announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 when he arrived in Australia.
Denis Shapovalov was tested positive following a drug test taken on his arrival in Sydney, where he was in preparation for the ATP Cup. The Canadian made the announcement on his Twitter account on Saturday, adding that he was now in isolation and was only experiencing mild symptoms of the virus.
The player wrote that he looked forward to being back on the tennis court, when “it is safe to do so.”
The ATP Cup takes place from 1er to January 9. The nationwide tournament kicks off the new season on the men’s circuit.
