The mayor of a town in Isère files a complaint after being attacked in Avignon

The mayor of Péage-de-Roussillon (Isère), André Mondange, filed a complaint after being physically attacked in Avignon, during the night from Thursday to Friday, we learned on Saturday December 23 from the prefecture of ‘Isère. For his part, the mayor declared to BFMTV that his attackers had identified themselves “like nationalists”. “They addressed my daughter, who is mixed race, and made unambiguous racist remarks”he further reported.

“The mayor is very affected”

The prefect of Isère Louis Laugier condemned “with firmness the aggression of André Mondange” in a message published on “provides all its support to the mayor and his loved ones in the face of this ordeal, in the face of this unacceptable act”.
