(Kyiv) The Ukrainian air force claimed to have repelled a new Russian drone attack during the night from Friday to Saturday by shooting down 30 of the 31 devices launched in several regions of the country.
“A total of 31 Shahed-136/131 attack drones were used in the attack, which the occupiers sent to different regions of Ukraine,” the Air Force said in a statement.
The attack targeted, among others, the capital, Kyiv, the southern region of Kherson and the western region of Khmelnytsky, all regularly struck by Russia.
Russian authorities have reported the death of one person in nighttime Ukrainian bombings on the occupied part of the Kherson region, in the south of the country.
The governor of the Russian region of Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, for his part reported 41 Ukrainian strikes in the last 24 hours on this territory bordering Ukraine and regularly targeted.
Friday evening, the Russian army had already indicated that it had repelled an attack by 26 Ukrainian drones in the space of two hours above Crimea, a peninsula annexed in 2014. A few hours earlier, it was the Russian region of Kursk which was targeted by six drones.
This type of drone attack has become almost daily on both sides of the front, and the number of devices used increases every month.
