Emblematic figure of the star Academy, Marlène Schaff is one of the students’ most popular tutors. Experienced, the latter proved herself in the music industry before joining the cult program. “I have been a teacher for ten years, graduated from the variety studio in Paris which offers training to professionals in the profession. I was already a vocal coach on the show The Voice Kids then I was contacted to ask me if I was interested in being a teacher at the Star Academy, this time in front of the camera”, she confided in the columns of Vosges Morning.
True “Swiss knife”the Franco-German vocal coach almost participated in the second season of the Star Ac’. Unfortunately, Raphaëlle Ricci was intransigent. “I tried to sign up for Star Academy in the first season”she recently revealed.
“When I arrived in Paris, I was in the school of Alice Donna, who is the mother of Raphaëlle Ricci (former stage expression teacher at the Star Academy, editor’s note). The whole class was invited to audition for season 2 of Star Academy. I passed the auditions and a few weeks later, we did a show with the school”she added in an interview with Télé-Loisirs.

“It demoralized me”
Known for her outspokenness, Raphaëlle Ricci did not mince her words: “She had debriefed Alice Donna. She said of me: “Marlene, she sings great, it’s a shame she dresses like a farmer.” And so apparently that’s the reason why they didn’t want to go any further with me, because I looked so bad.”
At the time, Marlène Schaff had great difficulty accepting this tackle. “I remember exactly how I was dressed, I went and spent my little money to look a bit nice and I won’t hide from you that it demoralized me. Fortunately, this refusal had no impact on the course of events since the star subsequently embarked on a successful career.
