“passed away peacefully […] at Cavaillon hospital”in Vaucluse, at the age of 86, announced his children Jules and Ludivine in a press release relayed by AFP.
On X, formerly Twitter, tributes have been pouring in since the sad news. “The gentleman artist, crooner and actor Guy Marchand has just left us! Great friend of Johnny, the parties with him had a different flavor. RIP the gentleman. Great sadness…”, wrote Bernard Montiel in particular while sharing a photo of the actor. For her part, Rima Abdul Malak, the Minister of Culture, also paid tribute to the memory of the artist. “Guy Marchand sketched life impatiently, desperately, passionately. Music, song, television, cinema: the ‘guignol of Buttes Chaumont’, who became the unforgettable Nestor Burma, accompanied so many chapters of our lives. His crooner’s voice and We will miss his panache.”
