(Montreal) A young man was seriously injured in the upper body late Wednesday evening, in the southwest of Montreal, when he was hit by at least one firearm projectile.
The life of the 18-year-old victim was, however, out of danger during the last update of his state of health obtained and revealed on Thursday night by the Police Service of the City of Montreal (SPVM).
Several calls to the 911 emergency telephone center, around 10:30 p.m., informed the authorities that gunshots had just been heard near the intersection of Atwater Avenue and Delisle Street, near the Lionel-Groulx metro station, in the Little Burgundy district.
When they arrived on scene, the police found the young man injured and organized his transport to hospital.
Shortly after, another man was taken in for questioning, but a few hours later he was released by police. He was scheduled to meet with investigators later in the day, Thursday.
At the end of the night, the SPVM therefore reported no arrests in connection with this attempted murder.
A security perimeter was erected in the area to allow investigators to gather information on this case.
