A man entered a daycare, which welcomes Jewish children, in Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) on Tuesday, December 12, with a knife to threaten the director of the establishment with death, franceinfo learned with the Créteil public prosecutor’s office. Around 3:30 p.m., the man entered the nursery with a 15-centimeter knife. He made death threats and anti-Semitic insults to the director: “You’re a Jew, you’re a Zionist, five of us are going to come and rape you, cut you up like they did in Gaza”, reports France Bleu Paris. The author then fled, without coming across the children present in the nursery at the time of the incident.
The public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into “death threats based on race, ethnicity, nation or religion”, “threats of crime against people based on race, ethnicity, nation or religion”. ” and “violence followed by incapacity not exceeding eight days”, with three aggravating circumstances (on a person entrusted with a public service mission, near an educational establishment, due to race, ethnicity, nation or religion).
The Val-de-Marne departmental judicial police service was responsible for the investigation.
