Lille supporters banned from traveling for the derby in the Coupe de France

It’s supposed to be a regional celebration, in an evening that brings people together, but the derby of the round of 16 of the Coupe de France between Racing Club de Lens and LOSC will take place without Lille supporters on January 4th.

The prefect of Pas-de-Calais issued an order on Thursday, December 23, prohibiting them from entering the Bollaert stadium.

To justify itself, the prefecture mentions in particular incidents “provoked by Lille supporters during the meeting of September 18, 2021 at the Bollaert-Delelis stadium. The Lille supporters having thrown seats and various projectiles at the Lensois supporters of the Tranin stand and at the CRS. “

LOSC supporters would have purged their suspension of movement, following these overflows. It runs until December 31.

But the prefecture believes that “these recent incidents and the information gathered by the security forces confirm that this Coupe de France meeting is considered to be of major risk”

LOSC supporters will therefore be prohibited from entering the stadium enclosure and its surroundings, as well as in several streets in downtown Lens and the neighboring town of Liévin from January 4 at 6 a.m. to January 5 at 6 a.m.

They are also prohibited from driving or parking on public roads in the arrondissements of Arras and Béthune.
