The passage of the Paris ring road to 50 km/h is “not a good decision in the short term”, believes the Minister of Transport.

Guest of 8:30 am franceinfo Thursday December 7, the Minister of Transport Clément Beaune announced the government’s opposition to the passage of the Paris ring road at 50 km/h. “We will not validate this decision”explains the minister because “this is not a good idea in the short term.”
During the presentation of the climate plan 2024-2030 November 22, 2023, Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, announced her desire to lower the speed on the Paris ring road to 50 km/h from September 2024, after the Olympic and Paralympic Games which will be held in the capital.
