The year 2023 is officially the hottest year ever recorded on the planet. The temperature has increased by 1.46°C compared to the pre-industrial era.

Rivers dried up this summer in France, nearly 60°C felt in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) a few weeks ago, fields transformed into dust in Argentina… The year 2023 is not over but already, it is the hottest year ever recorded on the planet: +1.46°C compared to the years 1850-1900, the pre-industrial era. “Last November was the warmest November on record globally. It is the sixth consecutive month in 2023 in which global temperatures reached record levels”explains Julien Nicolas, climatologist at the Copernicus climate change observatory.
