“I will defend an amendment which establishes security provisions in the Constitution regarding the prevention of terrorism. We will allow through this modification, if it were adopted, to make provisions relating to security detention, or administrative detention, for known individuals, identified by the intelligence services, whose dangerousness is proven, who sometimes come out of prison, and who are identified as being potential human bombs. A necessary “reform of the Constitution”, according to Eric Ciotti

The member emphasizes that there are “very high chance that the Constitutional Council will declare it contrary to the Constitution”that’s why he “we have to go through a reform of the Constitution”, according to him. According to Eric Ciotti, “Today we are deprived of the tools that could provide greater protection for our fellow citizens.” According to him, it is necessary to adapt “to an increasingly strong threat which will be extremely important on the eve of and during the Olympics”.

A fairly similar text will also be proposed by the senatorial right. “In a few days, we will propose a text to extend security detention to convictions for terrorism.
