OM no longer has the right to make mistakes. A week after their worrying draw in Strasbourg (1-1), which provoked the anger of their coach Gennaro Gattuso, the Phocéens welcome Stade Rennes, at the end of the 14th day of Ligue 1, Sunday December 3. Unable to win in the league since October 8 and a success against Le Havre at home, the Marseillais must wake up, after taking two points in the last four matches.

They will be able to build on their spectacular success on Thursday evening in the Europa League against Ajax Amsterdam (4-3). But, on the other hand, the Rennais – who also won in the Europa League (3-0 against Maccabi Haifa) – remain with a convincing victory in Ligue 1, against Stade de Reims (3-1). If successful this Sunday on the Vélodrome pitch, the Rennes would take off OM with a four-point lead, and get closer to the European places, the objective announced at the start of the season.
