40 years of Nutcracker for Ballet Ouest de Montréal

It’s not just the Grands Ballets that present the show Nutcracker this Christmas month. For 40 years, the Ballet Ouest de Montréal company has also transported young and old to the Kingdom of Sweets. In this anniversary year for the troupe, more than 240 young dancers aged 7 to 17 will take the stage surrounded by around thirty professional dancers. A special performance is planned for Saturday, December 2 with performances from guest artists, including Janie and Marcio, winners of season 2 of the show Revolution.

At Salle Pierre-Mercure, in Montreal, on December 2 and 3, at 2 p.m., then in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Trois-Rivières later in December. A special performance for the 40th^e The company’s anniversary is also scheduled for Saturday, December 2, at 7:30 p.m.

Christmas on track

Boreal Express is one of your favorite films to watch with your family during the holiday season? Exporail trains will not take you to the North Pole, but, decorated with their lights, they will still immerse you in a magical atmosphere. Until January 3, 2024, Canada’s largest railway museum is organizing numerous Christmas-themed activities: crafts, cookie decorating workshops, tea time aboard a historic car… Not forgetting a visit from the generous character with the white beard, rides on the Christmas train and the screening of Boreal Express.

Between music and theater

On the border between a music concert and a play is Uproar: the theatrical concert. Designed for 12 to 17 year olds, this production written in collaboration with adolescents highlights the quest for identity of young musicians. For them, their art is sometimes a source of answers, sometimes a place of release. A refreshing show in which humor and emotions skillfully intertwine through a love story or a game of dodgeball.

Like in a Disney movie

In 100 years of existence, Disney studios have created many characters who have marked the imagination of children of yesterday and today. The immersive experience Disney Animation allows us to see some of them in a different light. Through projections and technology that reacts to movements, visitors enter the world of some famous Disney films, such as Snow Queen, The little Mermaid, Encanto And The Lion King. Before stopping in the metropolis, the experience, offered in French or English, was presented in 16 other cities around the world.

A bright holiday season at Illumi

Funny snowmen, candy canes and colorful trees are added to the Illumi route this December. With its approximately 25 million lights and its 19 universes, the Laval attraction has everything to make the eyes of young and old children shine. Taller than the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center in New York, the famous Tree of Lights will sparkle once again this year on the site which you can choose to explore on foot or by car.

Stop time at the Maison Théâtre

For the holiday holidays, the Maison Théâtre presents a puppet show designed for ages 3 to 8. Inside a large clock, Cuckoo, a little bird, and his two sidekicks mark the passing of time. Between all the tasks to be done, he doesn’t see the minutes ticking by. When the arrival of an intruder causes the needles to stop completely, the winged hero sets off in pursuit into a world where time does not exist.
