In eastern Ukraine, Russian soldiers are trying to capture the town of Avdiivka. Against them, the Ukrainian army has been defending itself for several weeks.
In Ukraine, the Russians want at all costs to take the town of Avdiivka, an industrial city located in the east of the country. Largely destroyed, it is under permanent bombardment. Holed up in a trench, Ukrainian soldiers defend the city. “We need drones”, indicated a commander during fighting in October. The soldiers endure the incessant waves of assault from the Russian forces. “It is very important that people see these images so that they know how terrible and cruel this war is.”assures Oleh Sentsov, commander of the 47e mechanized brigade.
On average 931 Russian deaths per day
Terror sets in, men try to sink as far into the earth as possible. An enemy tank passes next to the trench. “We had to retreat”, indicates the commander. The Ukrainian General Staff does not communicate its losses in the battle of Avdiivka, but it gives Russian losses, which would amount to 931 deaths per day on average.
