If she wins the crown of Miss France 2024, on December 16, in Dijon, her first thought will be for her little sister, Romane, for whom Lounès Texier (Miss Poitou-Charentes 2023) has entered the race. In an interview given to Leisure TVthe beauty queen explains that the little girl is “carrier of Down syndrome 21″ and it is to pay tribute to him that she decided to take on this challenge.
Accused of “make people cry in the cottages to be elected”
About Romane, Lounès reveals: “She has always been attracted to the world of Misses. I didn’t particularly know this world, but I wanted to please them by participating in the departmental election. I didn’t think I would go this far! In the end, she is delighted, as am I.”
And for good reason, observes the big sister: “all the photos she finds, she shows them to her friends at college. She asked me for autographs. She’s a fan and proud!” And what’s more, “she will be present in Dijon, as a VIP and right up front!” she rejoices.
A great way to silence the haters, on the Web, who have targeted her in an odious way. Competing with 29 other girls for the national title, the 18-year-old young woman denounces: “I got some negative messages like you have to make people cry in the cottages to be elected” when talking about my little sister, “she’s not pretty”. Fortunately, she takes things philosophically and assumes: “I can’t please everyone.”.
“The looks of others don’t matter to me“
In the end, the lovely regional Miss defends herself: “with my little sister with Down syndrome, I don’t care about the opinions of others. I attach more importance to the comments of those close to me”. And the latter are of great support during the Miss France adventure, since they follow her everywhere, have “glitter in your eyes” And “are amazed”. And that’s all that matters!
