Six people were brought, Monday, November 27, before the Valence criminal court for immediate appearance, after the violence which broke out in Romans-sur-Isère (Drôme) on Saturday evening, during an expedition of members of the ultra-right in the Monnaie district, announced the Valencia prosecutor.
These six people will be judged for acts of violence against police officers aggravated in meetings and with weapons, and participation in a group with the aim of committing violence, specified Laurent de Caigny.
The prosecutor calls for calm
A week after the death of Thomas, 16, during a ball in Crépol (Drôme), members of small ultra-right groups increased violent actions in Romans-sur-Isère, leading the public prosecutor of Valence to launch a call for calm. “No one can take justice apart from the law”declared Laurent de Caigny on Sunday in a brief statement to the press.
Saturday evening, around a hundred ultra-right activists from different cities across the country organized a xenophobic expedition in the Monnaie district, from which some of the suspects linked to the Crépol tragedy came. One of the ultra-right activists “indicates having been kidnapped and molested” Saturday evening, declared the Valencia prosecutor, specifying that he had referred these facts to the judicial police.
