Invited to the set of What an era!
, Hélène Ségara played the card of transparency by addressing very intimate subjects such as her eye disease or her difficult past. Indeed, the juror of France has an unbelievable talent
notably mentioned his late father.
“I know it’s painful for my mom when I talk about it and God knows my mom is my treasure… But I’ve always watered things down. To sum up, he’s not a ‘macho’ or ‘authoritarian’ he’s an alcoholic since he died at the age of 40 from cirrhosis of the liver. So that sets the scene.”she said about her father.
“My strength came from there because it was make or die. I am very gentle in life, but I know how to return the blows given to me because I left at 15. I asked to be placed in a home so as to no longer live with this man”, recalled the singer who led a difficult life for a long time.
“I was poorly dressed, I had no money, I lived in 15 m² with my son”remembered Hélène Ségara whose life took an unexpected turn when she met her producer Orlando, the famous brother of Dalida.

A book being written
As a reminder, this is not the first time that Hélène Ségara has spoken about her past. “I’m the type to fight. At 22, I lived in a 15 square meter apartment with my son Raphaël. I was a single mother. If I hadn’t had the hope that my situation would improve, I wouldn’t ‘wouldn’t be there’she confided during an interview with Gala on Thursday April 6, 2023.
A positive attitude that inspires the singer: “I started writing a book on the subject – methods to stay positive and believe in yourself – because it interests me. I learned a lot through the trials. I like knowing that I can do it in myself. tracing the courage to bounce back every time I hit rock bottom […]. What is certain is that I have never felt as strong as since I was brought down on my knees with my health problems.”she concluded with our colleagues.
