Former short-track speed skater and triple Olympic medalist Marianne St-Gelais is pregnant.
Her partner Raphaël Maheux made the announcement on his Instagram account on Saturday afternoon, indicating that the expected date of delivery was in May 2024.
Marianne St-Gelais in turn shared her lover’s publication on a “story” on Instagram.
This is the first pregnancy for the speed skater who won three Olympic silver medals as well as a world championship gold medal during her career which spanned between 2003 and 2018 .
Since her retirement from competition, the 33-year-old woman, originally from Saint-Félicien in Lac-Saint-Jean, has notably been a coach in addition to making several appearances in the Quebec media.
She also participated in the first season of the popular show “Sortez-moi d’ici” broadcast on TVA last spring.
