Gatineau police investigate possible kidnapping and ask for public help

(Gatineau) The City of Gatineau Police Service (SPVG) launched an appeal to the population on Friday evening as part of research in connection with a possible kidnapping that occurred on its territory earlier in the day.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the alleged victim, four suspects and a vehicle.

The SPVG indicated that it received a call concerning a person who allegedly witnessed a kidnapping that occurred around 4:10 p.m. on Gauthier Street, near the intersection of Duquette Street, in the Gatineau sector.

“The collection of information on the ground as well as the investigation made the police fear that a person, probably of adult age (depending on the size), would indeed have been kidnapped while walking (on) rue Gauthier in a southerly direction,” the police force indicated in a press release.

The car sought is described as possibly being a four-door red Nissan Altima or Sentra, a model from 2013 to 2019 and being registered in Quebec. The vehicle has tinted rear windows and “appears to be equipped with winter tires, or at least the rims do not have hubcaps,” according to the SPVG.

The alleged victim, gender unknown, had white skin, smoked cigarettes and was wearing a black hooded coat with fur. She wore black pants and shoes at the event, police said.

The SPVG also sent a description for each of the suspects allegedly involved in the event:

“Suspect 1: the driver is believed to be a white-skinned man, wearing a black coat with a white logo on the left side of the chest, as well as another logo behind the right shoulder. He wore a gray and white hooded sweater and black pants;

Suspect 2: white-skinned man who wore a black t-shirt and pants, as well as black shoes. He would have blue-green or turquoise underwear;

Suspect 3: believed to be a white-skinned man wearing a red hooded sweater, jeans and dark shoes;

Suspect 4: the sex of the person is unknown. The person was said to have white skin, was wearing light-colored pants and a black t-shirt. »

Anyone with information related to this event can contact the SPVG INFO line by dialing 819 243-4636, option 5.

Residents of the area with video recordings that would allow them to see the vehicle, the alleged victim or the suspects are also invited to call 819 246-0222.

Police are asking the public to call 911 if they see a vehicle matching the description and photos, with one or more people on board who may match the description of the suspects.
