(Montreal) The Air Canada company logo will appear on the Canadian’s white jersey from Wednesday night’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, the Montreal organization indicated in a press release Wednesday.
The addition of the Air Canada crest is part of the NHL’s game jersey advertising program, which allows League teams to sell advertising on their official jerseys.
“Bearing the name and iconic Air Canada emblem (the red maple leaf enclosed within a circle), the crest will be affixed to the team’s official white jerseys, and sewn into the upper right part of the chest “, we explained in the press release.
This announcement comes a little more than a year after the Habs announced that the logo of RBC Bank, the Royal Bank of Canada, would be affixed to its red sweater.
The captain, Nick Suzuki, arrived at the Canadian golf tournament in September 2022 with the red jersey, adorned with the small RBC logo, in the company of assistants Brendan Gallagher and Joel Edmundson.
In both cases, the Bleu-blanc-rouge indicated that it was an agreement for “several seasons”, without specifying the exact number.
The Canadian also announced in December 2020 that Bell would be “the team’s corporate partner identified on the players’ helmets for the 2020-2021 season, a first partnership of this kind between a Canadian company and an NHL franchise.”
