A 33-year-old man was hit by several bullets Wednesday evening in the Ville-Marie borough in Montreal. He is in hospital in critical condition.
A call was made to 9-1-1 to report a gunshot wound. The event took place on rue des Érables, at the corner of Sherbrooke, in the borough of Ville-Marie. When the police arrived, they found an unconscious man suffering from several projectiles in his upper body. He was taken to hospital and is in critical condition.
The circumstances of the event are currently unknown. There is a suspect in the file, but no arrests. Witnesses will be met by the Montreal Police Department.
The perimeter was established to protect the crime scene. Investigators and a canine unit were dispatched to the scene. The investigation is underway to elucidate the circumstances of the events.
