Belgium: the Gang of Angry Old People organizes joyful demonstrations – (France 2)
In Belgium, the gang of angry old people defends aging well. And they do it with a lot of humor. They are in great shape, dressing up and making public appearances.
Recently, a surprise demonstration was held on the platform of the Brussels station (Belgium). Costumed retirees proclaim their slogan. They are mobilizing to maintain their senior ticket at eight euros whatever the distance that the authorities want to eliminate. They go to Liège (Belgium) to meet other retirees. Their group is called the Angry Old Man Gang. It has 15,000 members, and even a newspaper.
Undeclared demonstrations
They organize a certain number of festive events to denounce the high cost of living, or even mistreatment in nursing homes. This time, it is about mobilizing against the dehumanization of public service. The Belgian population seems to approve. Even the police allow their demonstrations to take place, even though they are not declared.
