Martin Tremblay was part of the team of sappers who were called to intervene around 11:30 p.m., on rue des Silex, when a residence caught fire.

After a while, due to the power of the flames and the fragility of the building, the Boischatel / l’Ange-Gardien Fire Safety Service (SSI) requested the building to be evacuated.

In the fall, with a much less critical health situation, around 1,200 firefighters paid a final tribute to Pierre Lacroix, who died while rescuing two citizens in danger in the Lachine rapids on October 17.

Mayor Valérie Plante mentioned that Mr. Lacroix’s sacrifice will never be forgotten. Pierre Lacroix, 58, was married and the father of two children. He was one of four firefighters aboard a capsized boat.
