where to go in the Pyrénées-Orientales?

One week after the opening of the vaccination against Covid-19 to children who present risk factors, or who are in contact with fragile people, it is now all over five years who can receive a pediatric version of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine. Since this Wednesday, it is possible to make an appointment on Doctolib in the centers that can accommodate them. There are for the moment two in the Pyrénées-Orientales : the hospitals of Perpignan and Prades. “Gradually, pediatric lines will be opened in all the centers of the department, it will be set up at the beginning of the year”, explains Jean-Louis Bolte, responsible for that of the Carré d’or in Perpignan.

“There will be an appropriate interview with a health professional and support in a more or less fun context to try to play down the matter”, continues the doctor, who will book in his center half a day per week exclusively for children, Wednesday afternoon.

For those who do not wish to go to a vaccination center, it is possible to appeal to his attending physician or to a liberal nursee. However, at this stage, pharmacists are not authorized to perform the injections. As for the rest of the population, this vaccination is not compulsory, the choice is up to the parents.
