“Once upon a time”, Parazar

Revealed during the last edition of the Les Francouvertes competition, during which she reached the final round, Parazar has since redoubled her ardor, performing on stages and professional showcases, signing an agreement with Bravo Musique to offer this unequal but promising second mini -career album. The musician has a unique voice and point of view on the scene: a woman, with Algerian roots, who defends these multiple identities with passion, coating her rap with references to raï songs, with complex melodies and surges of derbuka. And club music: his accomplice Fifo, composer and co-director, offers him danceable rhythms — on EDM (Between two worlds) and the muscular Elsewherein duo with Salimo — between two drill-trap productions (excellent Bakhta, with MCM). On the other hand, the text is not always well calibrated to the prosody, as we hear on the starched title song, which gives the impression of having too many syllables. This is already good, but the best is yet to come.
