Rhône: two arrests after mortar fire at a high school in Lyon – (Franceinfo)
A high school in Lyon was hit by mortar fire on Friday November 10. According to the prefecture, around ten individuals carried out the shots, for a reason still unknown.
Mortar fire, and a trash can set on fire. Around 7 a.m., Friday November 10, the La Martinière high school in Lyon (Rhône) was targeted by a dozen individuals, under the dazed gaze of high school students who witnessed the scene. Two students were arrested. One would be subject to a disciplinary sanction from the establishment. Classes are maintained, but the incomprehension of the gesture remains.
Violence is increasing
“JHe tells me: why, in fact? Because there is no message, no ulterior motive, it’s just destroying for the sake of destroying“, comments a student. For several weeks, these scenes of violence have been repeated. “The last blockade, I almost got mortared“, testifies a high school student. For Mr. Lahy, professor of physics and chemistry, the event is symptomatic of broader issues, in particular “missing means“.
