Singer SZA leads Grammy nominations, female artists in force

R&B and soul singer SZA obtained on Friday, with nine categories, the most nominations for the next Grammy Awards ceremony, the awards of the American music industry, in a top ranking dominated by female artists.

The hit singer Kill Bill ahead of rocker Phoebe Bridgers, pop singer Victoria Monet, as well as mixer Serban Ghenea, who each received seven nominations.

Next up, with nominations in six categories, are female rock supergroup boygenius (of which Phoebe Bridgers is a member), as well as Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Jon Batiste, Brandy Clark and Miley Cyrus.

Producer Jack Antonoff also gets six nominations for his work with Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey.

But during the 66e Grammy Awards ceremony on February 4 in Los Angeles, the other phenomenon to watch will be the cinema blockbuster barbiewhose songs from the soundtrack, performed notably by Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa, strongly occupy several categories.

In 2023, the ceremony crowned Beyoncé, who became the most awarded artist with a total of 32 awards throughout her career, but the supreme prize for album of the year had escaped her in favor of British popstar Harry Styles .
