The 66-year-old singer explained: “I haven’t listened to Slimane’s song yet. But I really like Slimane, he sings divinely well, and I’m sure that we will be wonderfully represented and that we have our chances, in my opinion.”
The last time France almost won was when Barbara Pravi participated, in 2021. Marie Myriam recalls that the second place has come to us more than once in history, before concluding, for our candidate: “Anyway, I think he will represent France well and I can’t wait to listen to his song”.
And if Pascal Praud said he adored Slimane and his songs, he also admitted to Marie Myriam that in the event of a French victory, he would be a little saddened not to call the singer every year. The latter remembered her coronation, “It’s been 47 years, it was yesterday, I’m the fifth to have won Eurovision. There were 4 candidates before me who were fantastic and won this award easily. I think it’s maybe because now there are 40 countries or 48, I don’t know how many there are anymore.”.

For his part, Slimane is focused. Esmeralda’s dad announced the news that he was leaving with “My love” at the competition two days ago. On the Web, he wrote with emotion “For my parents. For my daughter. For France. For you…” And added the next day, after publishing the song: “I wrote this song as a love letter that I send to all the hearts that will listen to it. Love. Everywhere. Always. More than ever. Together. Head to Eurovision!”
