The vote was held at the end of special general assemblies which had been held since December 13 and made it possible to put an end to more than two years of negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement.

“The gains obtained are significant for several sectors and the new bonuses can be applied as soon as the final texts are signed with the President of the Treasury Board, Sonia LeBel. Now is the time to look to the next round, which begins in October 2022, ”APTS President Robert Comeau said in a press release.

The agreement provides in particular for obtaining flexible leave for staff in youth centers, the extension of the psychiatric bonus to new activity centers, but also financial recognition.

The organization however recalled that the agreement is not entirely satisfactory, as evidenced by the result of 55.3% of votes in favor.
“Throughout this negotiation, the Legault government has never ceased to wear blinders, willfully ignoring the rest of the problems affecting the network. Unfortunately, as we can see today, waiting lists are reaching unparalleled lengths in all sectors, ”added the president of the APTS.
